Year 2009 is a special year for Junior Chamber International Malaysia as we are pioneering a new Vision and Mission of JCI.

Our New Vision is To be the leading global network of young active citizens and with new Mission - To provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change, these had forms the backbone of my Presidential Theme for 2009 - “B2B” – Back to BASIC, 2 excel & Be better.

Back to BASIC is a must and important to build a stronger foundation for JCI Malaysia members to execute their duties or implement projects effectively ranging from personal development to international projects. 2 excel and practice the concept of active citizenship by acting and inspiring others to act in order to create positive changes in society and to Be better in whatever role we play in becoming better leaders for a better future.

We need to BUILD a group of youth through JCI activities and training, where members are trained to be better individuals in order to build a better society and a better Nation. We should ASSOCIATE and establish Smart Partnership with Corporate Partners, Government Agencies and other NGOs thereby giving rise to more opportunities to our members.

JCI Malaysia should be a SOCIALLY Responsible Organization that undertakes meaningful CSR projects especially social services project that reach out to rural areas. Let us open our arms and our minds to strengthen Global Networking by attending INTERNATIONAL conferences & congresses and continue organizing International Business Visitations that will enable our members to break into International Network easily.

We should continue to position our organization to be the choice for young people and ensure CONTINUITY of our projects or programs that have proven to be successful and beneficial to our members. .

All in all, our goal, our determination and our mission for 2009, is to bring JCI back to its original purpose. Therefore, we must seek more reason for young people to join us, I believe ahead of us are a lot of challenges and opportunities. However, I am confident that with teamwork, one goal & one direction, we will be able to create a significant impact and achieve positive growth.

2009 promises to be an active year for JCI Malaysia and as an organization through the importance of the volunteer movement we must work hard be proactive citizenship in our societies. Commit ourselves, commit to JCI and commit to be an active citizen.

Lastly, I wish to take this opportunity to thank my National President JCI Sen Sabrina Tiew for appointed me as your NGLC 2008 and under your leadership has bringing our JCI Malaysia to a greater height with flying colours. To my 2008 National colleague, my sincere gratitude for your cooperation, assistant and friendship rendered to me and it is indeed my honour to work together with you all in year 2008.

To my 2009 National BODs, I look forward to your support and working hand in hand with commitment, energy and enthusiasm, to achieve exceptional positive growth, making 2009 more than a fairy tale, but a dream come true.
